Company: CardTrans - Responsible for documenting an IPC (Inter-Process Communication) credit card transaction application in UML for a company that processes credit card transactions through direct links or through the web. Documented socket, name pipes, multi-threaded, XML internal structures and communication messages between merchants in client companies, and ADO objects performed using Visual C++ as a tool, and having SQL Server as a DB repository. Provided application inventory, assessment, recommendations, and full application technical documentation. As an end result, the company was able to optimize their processes (were able to exceed Microsoft's limit on number of running threads) thus able to offer their business to companies that required resources that they thought were beyond their technical capabilities.
Company: Knowlwdge Base Marketing - Expeditiously designing, developing and implementing the New Geographic web application to obtain maps and demographic information sold to the company’s clients - designed and developed employing ASP with HTML/DHTML, JavaScript, VBScript, and Jscript. Wrote code, tested and implemented business rules in an Oracle 8i package with 12 stored procedures. Transferred the business rules from back-end Oracle database to middle tier, developing ASP VBScript functions to access an ORACLE CLOB in a table through the record set object and populating the client ASP pages. Modified JAVA applications that parsed XML files and reformatted them into JCL scripts to be transferred (FTP) to IBM 360 mainframe to be processed. These files formed part of the geographic application to obtain counts on selected demographic criteria and to generate orders with general public information for KBM customers (other marketing companies). Trained systems personnel in Stored Procedures (manipulating a CLOB) and on Regular Expressions using JAVA. Finished half a month before deadline, resulting in considerable saving to the company, and faster return on investment. |

Effectively analyzed and developed additional functionality, documenting, and maintaining the TIMEKEEPER application, which was initially developed by an outsource effort. Migrated the Kronos software from Informix/Unix based platform to a SQL Server/Windows 2000 application interfacing with TIMEKEEPER. These changes provided a more efficient way to track the time spend on work, breaks, lunch, etc. accrued by individual Call Center agents working in many States across the Nation. Additionally, the high performance rendered by the new Kronos/Timekeeper application permitted more flexibility registering agent time and ensuing a better tracking of activities and paying for the right amount of work hours, producing substantial savings to the agent payroll. Expeditiously designed, developed, unit tested & deployed a PHP sidecar reporting web tool designed for call-center supervisors to obtain and track work time of personnel at the different call centers throughout many states.
Applications maintained: Human Resources Tax Interface between Lawson and ADP (Informix C) and later rewritten in JAVA, back-end as well as Java Applets and JDBC to connect to Oracle DB’s, using Borland Jbuilder 5.0.
Applications Fully Developed: Automating the HR Personal Action Form to work as a web based work flow collaborating application (FrontPage, Visual InterDev) design with HTML and ASP/VBScript. Developed a system to send messages to pagers whenever there was a problem with the Data Bases, Applications or space on the File Systems, using the Unix SENDMAIL utility and C system calls.
Daily Functions: SQL Server DBA. Systems Support. |
